Located in the very heart of Downtown Youngstown, The Lewis Center for Gifted Learning is just blocks away from progressive academic and cultural institutions including Youngstown State University, The Butler Institute of  American Art, The DeYor Performing Arts Center (home of the Youngstown Symphony), and the OH WOW! Science Center, all which partner with The Lewis Center for Gifted Learning enriching its curriculum.

The Lewis Center for Gifted Learning reflects the influence of its eclectic surroundings. Housed in an early century stone church’s annex, it is home to a music room, a library, the C.S. Lewis Lecture Hall, an art studio, and outdoor courtyard.

At the Lewis Center for Gifted Learning, students spend their days with other academically advanced peers, giving them the opportunity to relate to, as well as grow with, each other at an accelerated rate. The students flourish and are challenged to reach their individual intellectual and creative potential. Each of our educators are highly trained in the very best practices in gifted education.

The Lewis Center for Gifted Learning is a part of the Valley Christian School system and was birthed out of a desire to meet the needs of students who have an exceptional ability to learn or reason. Often the needs of gifted students are not met in a traditional classroom setting. It fails to offer enough flexibility to accommodate the learning potential of gifted children, who may need higher level or accelerated course work. Gifted children frequently find themselves in classes that move too slowly or do not challenge their aptitude. The Lewis Center for Gifted Learning meets these challenges with a private school experience that is tailored to the individual needs of each child.
